Eulalie Hopewell has spent her entire life being the perfect daughter. As the middle child to Greenwood’s beloved baptist preacher, she’s always done what everyone expects; except when it comes to Vernon, her childhood love.

Vernon Jackson had always been considered a troublemaker growing up in Greenwood. After a falling out with his sister, he’s focused on getting his life together to become a better man. After being separated for ten years they reunite, and Vernon learns of Eulalie’s engagement to a businessman named Samuel. Despite the pending nuptials, Vernon can’t seem to stay away from her. Eulalie can’t avoid the pull she feels toward Vernon, but she will do anything for her family’s approval. Even if that means marrying the wrong man.
